The Friends of the Santa Monica Public Library is a volunteer-driven community membership organization open to all individuals and families who wish to participate in the ongoing celebration and support of the Santa Monica Public Library, its five neighborhood branches located throughout the City, and the diverse population that it serves.
The Friends is managed by an active, all-volunteer Board of Directors, which seeks new members to serve at least two 12-month terms (April – March).
The Board seeks to be representative of the community it serves. People of diverse backgrounds with varied experiences are especially encouraged to apply. We are specifically looking for new Board members who can bring the following skills that are needed on the Board: fundraising, event planning, volunteer development and recruitment, social media marketing, and graphic design.All applicants should also have enthusiasm for our mission and purpose.
Prior board experience or financial commitment to the Friends is NOT required.
